Wondering where everyone went? I guess I know now
My name is Joe Massimini and I have been a boat owner for five years, fishing from a 23 foot Wellcraft with a 200 HP Mercury engine out of the Rhode River. I usually hang out anywhere between TPL and Poplar Island, although most everyone hear knows my usual spot is the oyster beds just inside #1 on the West River, where I catch lots of croaker, spot, and white perch.
I grew up in Pittsburgh, graduated from Pitt, married a girl I met during my junior year, have two children, 22 and 18, the young of which is attending Pitt right now. I currently work as a Program Manager in Laurel, Maryland. I live in Bowie, where I am known as Bingo Joe, because I am found just about every Friday evening at St. Pius X Bingo, which I run. In my younger days I used to help my grandfather fish for dinner in various lakes throughout the Pittsburgh area. I got pretty good at finding perch, crappie, and bluegills along with the occassional trout. When I moved here, my granndfather had just passed, so I gave up fishing until my son turned 9 and we got an invite to go fishing for Rockfish out of Ridge, Maryland (Scheibles). I have been fishing the bay ever since. Although I know how to catch rockfish, I still prefer going after the croaker, spot, and white perch. My wish list includes figuring out where and how to catch a yellow perch, and moving up to a boat (maybe a Judge 27) that I can keep in the water year round. To do that, I need to get my son through college and be able to afford the slip fees. |
We need the snow to stop so we can all get out and fish! :)

It seems I'm a little late to the party. My name is Tim Campbell. Soon to be 54. Born and raised in Baltimore. Started fishing as a little boy. Have caught over 30 species of freshwater fish and over 50 species of saltwater fish. I love to fish, travel and meet new people. Been to all 50 states, Canada and Mexico. Cabo and Central America is high on my list. Married to Bonnie, no kids. I've worked for Maryland Dept of Juvenile Services going on 27 years. I recognize a lot of names here and have enjoyed being on the water with some of you guys. Looking forward to getting out with some new fishing partners as well as some old ones this year.

name is steve schad...44 married with 2 children and reside on the south river here in edgewater. I am originally from the jersey shore where I grew up mating on party boats all through H.S and college. I moved to MD in 90 and that is when I started fishing the chesapeake. Started out a troller on my boat the "OLD HAT" which was a 1966 28 Hatteras Express. I then saw the light and got hooked on light tackle fishing and sold the big boat for a Parker CC. I fish a 2310 Parker walkaround now along with my Ocean Kayak on the river. Here is a pic of the old hat and latest rig and the yak too.

Good Day everyone,
My name is Ted and I live on Kent Island now full time for the last 6 months. My parents got a vacation home on the island in 82 so I have been fishing the Eastern bay since then. I am married and have 4 kids 17-4yrs old. I Capt. a 2001 Wellcraft 24wa and new this year is a 16' Rogue crabbing skiff. I am a Nurse working Nights in Administration IE the name. I am always looking to get on the water for any reason. Drop me a line and we'll go fishing:) |
My name is Bill Herb. I am in the early half of my sixties. I live with my wife of many years, son, and chocolate Lab on Fairlee Creek near Chestertown. I work from home, and when I need to take a break, I watch the pair of eagles across the creek in their new nest.
Prior to my current gig, I was, at times, a consulting forester, an instructor in the repair of Army cryptologic equipment, a hydrologist, a computer specialist, a manager of hydrologists, an environmental manager for the Army, and a manager of an Army environmental software testing team. I am a Pennsylvania Dutchman from the anthracite region, and remember a life with an outhouse and no running water. I have lived and worked in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, back to Pennsylvania, Texas, Minnesota, and finally back to Maryland. I do not intend to move again. I grew up trout fishing on creeks that you could pee across, and graduated to fly fishing on larger streams in Pennsylvania. I also did a lot of rabbit and deer hunting. For most of my working career, I have been unable to make the time available to do as much fishing or hunting as I would have liked. Maybe before too long, I will step back from work a bit, and fit in more fishing and hunting between various family obligations. I run a 1991 Grady White 228G, “Glory Days”, and just have re-powered with a brand spanking new Yamaha 4-stroke, which replaced my unreliable 1996 “big Johnson”. I am looking forward to better performance. My Bay fishing interests are centered around LTJ and similar techniques, and I have no interest what-so-ever in trolling, let alone trolling with planer boards. However, I am a live-and-let-live kind of guy. I am far more interested in catch and release than catch and kill, and if I never put another fish in the box, that would be just fine with me. Well, maybe some perch. In spite of a conservationist frame of mind, I have been known to eat both crabs and oysters (in moderation). I think that Omega Protein is a boil on the butt of mankind, and the Bay menhaden reduction industry should be eliminated, and a moratorium put on the harvest of Bay oysters. Although I have been a NRA Life member since before some of you were a gleam in your daddy’s eye, I probably am quite a bit to the left of most of you politically, but as I said, I’m a live-and-let-live kinda guy and won’t hold your wrong-headedness against you.:D |

Live in Lancaster but fish from MA to NC.
Was going to go to OI for several days but cancelled this morning because of marginal marine weather report down there and wind and snow up here. The fishing has been excellent down there when you can get out. Just registered. Have not had a chance to get the flavor of this board yet. Hopefully it is friendly.:) |
Hi I Live In York Pa. I Fish With One Of My Three Sons Normally. We All Hate Fishing Just Like To Catch Fish. We Are Not Spot Burners Don't Really Like Live Lining. Ha Ha
