Spring is in the air

A couple of guys on TF confirm that the osprey's have returned to the mid and upper Chesapeake. That's good news. I too can confirm that spring is in the air. First; I visited a couple ponds yesterday and saw the turtles sunning themselves on some logs, and additionally, I saw two women jogging in short-shorts, tennis shoes and halter tops:D.

I replaced all my shads on my C/R trolling gear (No stingers, barbs ground down). Everything looks fresh and I can't wait to get it in the water.

The spring peepers are singing loudly at night near my house.

They got a surprise coming though - near freezing next couple nights.

Then back near 65 on Friday. :D

At first, I thought "spring peepers" was a reference to Marty's female joggers mentioned above. :o

Ouch - just saw updated forecast for BWI area Monday night - low near 20*

Poor little peepers are in deep sh*t - hope they survive.

Now that I'm getting older (60 next Month); I no longer have a "pick up" line. I just wave money at them out the truck window:D.

Weeds are going to be REALLY REALLY bad this year. Get your product down sooner than later, before they go to seed. I actually got lucky for a change and got it down Friday before the three days of rain...:D So happy....

I have been hearing the spring peepers for about a week now. Friend from PA and I were just talking about this one the phone last night. Both saying how they are a couple weeks earlier than normal. This is by far my favorite time of year!

Hummingbirds have pushed their way into the Carolinas and Arkansas in numbers. They are way early this year, and should be in Maryland in numbers by the end of the month
