Charter in Cape Charles?
Looking at possibly trying to book a trip this weekend down VA and drift some eels. Anybody have any recommendations?

I have never been down that way. Reports are that you can pick up a monster fish drifting eels.
Best of luck if you go. 5th |
Call Chris' Bait and Tackle and ask them for a recommendation. They are very in tune with what's going on. 757-331-3000. Check Chrisbait.com for some info/pics or Facebook page. Sounds like the fish are 30-40 miles North of Cape Charles. Good luck!

Give these boys a call and see if they can pick you up on the shore.

Late but better than never. Ended up booking a trip with salt treated sportfishing with Capt Zach Hoffman. Started out slow but turned on around 9 or so. Really a great day with 3 personal best at 48.5 and 2x 47 inches.

Wow; that second photo is worthy of getting enlarged and given as Christmas presents to all the angles in the pic:D
Looks like a great day. 5th |
Holy crap. Looks like everyone had some fun.

Now they are some nice fish. Has been years since I have been down that way eeling but man what a blast it is when the fish are on. Nothing beats big fish on small tackle!

This was my first experience eeling in such a way and man it was awesome. I was taken back a little when we got aboard and I saw the tackle we were using. Shimano tekota 500's on 7ft medium heavy sticks but they worked great.
Mako Mike- you read my mind. Dad is getting a pic for XMAS. Fitting too since his was the pig. |
