OT - Heating Oil

Just curious, what are others paying for their heating oil.. I just paid $3.19 per gal on my auto delivery from Petro and wanted to see if that is in line with others who are paying current market value (no structured plans)

Thanks.

The Citgo station in Linthicum was selling offroad diesel for $2.49 last week and several of my elderly neighbors were buying it and dumping it in their homes oil tanks. 5th (Marty)

Just had 189 gallons delivered from Burchoil at 2.65 gallon. Sounds like you're getting screwed by a gang wielding lead pipes in a back alley...or something like that.

Cut or buy wood, either way is cheaper!

I called them and called them out on it. They are crediting my account to if I had paid 2.70/gal. They said that is their teaser rate rightnow and offered only to new customers. I asked about loyalty to continuous customers with no answer. She did go on to tell me that they are open 24/7/365 and many other companies are not:rolleyes:. My wife paid the bill so I have a credit with them  After the next delivery I will be shopping companies.

Delivery 1/8, $2.949/gal. Automatic delivery from Carroll.

B-Faithful 01-09-2010 12:18 PM

In order to receive my credit, I now have to take out a year long contract. While I dont want to give them the business after charging me above market rate when I was being a loyal customer, they offered me a flex plan that has a ceiling. I took it with a current market rate of 2.89 and it wont go above 3.09 before feb 1 2011. It can go down though. I have marked it on my calendar and will be more on the ball when the contract is up about shopping rates.

I would have told them to go screw themselves, keep the credit and you'll sign with another company. Just what I would have done. They probably would have relented.
