Solo Trolling - May 15 - TPL to 86

Thought you all might enjoy this video I created for TTF... Probably more than the jiggers over there!

It was a great day... A whole lot different than yesterday when we fished from 10-4pm and only caught 3, missed 1. We did keep a nice 22" fish for the grill yesterday... Seemed so tiny, but plenty of food for the family and delicious!

Jeff,
It works on my android phone and desktop computer. I don't know why it won't work on your iPad.

Nice video! That was a great morning. I was done there that windy afternoon. Dragging 17 lines, we only caught 2 fish (one of which was released by the net!) so really only 1.

How long are your leaders?? They look to be 20'+. I only run 6' on the heavy and 12' on the light one.

There does seem to be a strong majority of LT guys on Tech Fish. I did a CCA Skeet Shoot yesterday in Easton and let's just say its a good thing I had a gun. If not, they may have hot rodded me then hung me with 10#braid  I felt like an outlaw being there representing as a broomsticker! I did win a nice shirt though. :)

Jeff,

I took the lazy way and bought all of my tandems pre-rigged and never actually measured them. That said, I think that they are in the 6/12' range. In the video it may seem like they are longer as I am leadering the fish because I put the rod in the holder with the 3-way sometimes 6-8 feet from the rod tip, so I am "leadering" 8' of main line + 12' of leader = 20'. I am going to check to see how long the long leaders are next time out as you got me wondering now.

Oh, that makes more sense. Going for a little Dramatic effect or just trying to confuse those of us looking to steal a couple pointers?? :)

Rockin' Robin 05-20-2014 08:25 AM

It would actually be more dramatic if I reeled it in all the way up to the 3-way because then when I lift the rod tip up to put the rod in the holder the fish would come flying out of the water and bounce along the surface... I learned not to do that pretty quick.

Chessie27 05-20-2014 03:45 PM

Great point. I don't fish alone so things like that don't cross my mind. If I was alone, who would real the fish in?? Who puts out the boards? Who would set the lines? Dear Lord, WHO would I talk too all day??? :D
