Can't take it any more

That's it, I can't take any more winter. I'm going down to the marina and take the shrink wrap off the boat. Have to take a jug of water with me to wash the deck off. The fresh water won't be turned on until April 1st.
I might even take a deck chair and sit in the cockpit for a while and enjoy the 40 degree sunshine and a cold beer.
Sandals and shorts won't be far behind;)

Bruce,

That is the best idea I have seen in months !

Enjoy !

Took the wife to a couple scenic spots today just to get out of the house. I had to look at a few ramps to see if I could get out on Monday or Wednesday. :D

Had a nice day. Hit the VFW in Grasonville for some pit beef and fried oysters:).

It was nice to just get out in the sunshine. We need a few more 50* days to get rid of all the ice and snow:eek:

Marty is the last picture you modeling for the cover of the next AARP Newsletter?

Mikie 03-07-2015 05:44 PM

I don't know why he keeps that boat at Shipping Creek, it sinks about every other month. He used to clam with it, but has removed most of the gear. Guess he has his reasons. I don't know how he gets it back up all of the time but it will be floating again as soon as he can get to it.

Game on !!
Shrink wrap is off, all I have to do now is lay in the snow and paint the bottom and hope the river thaws out.

Good to hear; now just needs a little paint:D

Not the only one that needed to be re-floated. The ice was hard on boats and piers this winter.

Ok Bruce;
Here's good news. First, she started right up:D Started her on battery #1 and let her run a few minutes. Turned her off and started her on battery #2:D

Went back to see how she was "pissin" after getting her water pump kit installed during the off season. She sounded like a cow pissin on a flat rock:eek:

Now all we need is fish:eek:

You would have to put Lou up on the bow to keep the 22 ft'er afloat:D

Ya gotta get a line wet to catch them or did John teach you how to get them jumping in the boat!

OK. Boat is in the drink. Small set back with electronics. The Smart View panel which monitors all motor functions, oil press., RPM, temp., etc. was locked up. Quick call to factory and they asked me to disconnect all power from the back of the panel:eek: After removing the ceiling in the head to access the back of the panel I was able to pull the plugs and re boot the unit. All OK now:D. Now just have to clean up a bit and we'll be ready to roll.

Looking good guys. Not sure when the Judge is getting put in ... Marty I will see my slip owner this weekend and will broach the question we were discussing.

Looks like it will not get below freezing this week:eek:

Whoa, whoa, whoa!! Why is that boat PULLED into the slip?? That how y'all do it on the wrong shore?? I would get kicked out of my Marina here on the right shore. :D

Mako mike 03-29-2015 07:19 PM

Not y'all mine is two slips down from Marty and it's BACKED in. I think he pulls it in so the motor doesn't get stolen like the electronics did! LOL

5th Tuition 03-29-2015 09:17 PM

Actually, if you blow the photo up, you will see the piling farthest to the left is not my piling, but another slip that heads out the creek (90* opposite mine). It keeps me from being able to head slightly above my slip and letting the wind push me (centered) into my slip. Whenever the wind is from the east, it's a ***** to back her into the slip.

Therefore, I now cheat and pull her "head in". Granted, that's not kosher, even on the western shore:eek:
If I had Mako Mikes slip, I'd back in too:)

Now if I had a bow thruster like Jeff:) :)
