Fishing Expo Next Week

Anyone going on Thursday or Friday ? I might try to get out of work a little early and head up there Thursday for a few hours...Trying to convince Spot77 to go sometime over the weekend as well...

I am sure its not even close to as much fun as we will have at the Earleigh Heights Flea Market but, l just have to get out and do something related to fishing....

I am going to try to swing buy. Gotta register for the MSSA spring tournament and get the early bird special.. Besides they usually have cold beer and good pretzels! :p

I haven't decided yet. Every year I say that I am not going because I don't bass fish and the salty stuff keeps declining and then about every other year I end up going because I have nothing else to do :o

yea the show stinks has only gotten worse as time has gone on but I am curious and will probably go anyhow.

garlien 01-08-2010 11:36 AM

yeah, heard the same things about the decline but cold beer and anything to do with fishing in january is probably going to pull me in...

I will be there Saturday. Listen to a few of the speakers poke around and see what’s available. Yes I will have to try the beer since I have heard rumors about it being extremely good:). After this event I will hit the boat show, Tyler’s tackle, Tristate flea market and the crown jewel PSG flea market on Valentines Day. No better way to tell your wife you Love them than a new shinny fishing rod.:D

Hopefully the marina down from Tristate will open up early this year so we can get breakfast again. Capt Wayne Morgan set this up last year if I am remembering correctly.

Just need to get out of the house.

I probably go again this year. I don't really mind the lack of saltwater stuff, I'm just happy to be around fishing junk and boats again.

I'll be working the MSSA booth on Thursday night and Satruday morning. Stop by and say Hello. The MSSA will introduce some new great new membership deals along with special Spring Tournament Early Bird Specials at this show.

Spot77 01-09-2010 08:34 PM

Alright I'm convinced....I'll go. :D

I've been to the last 5 or 6.....Last year's was pretty disappointing but I'm keeping my fingers crossed this year.

I'd like to buy a new bass boat in the next year or two, so getting a good look at those, while always fun, will be more educational than just drooling this year.

Plus hanging out with friends and drinking beer is always ok with me. :p

I will be at the Timonium show all day Sunday. See you guys there.

Going for yourself to have fun or to represent Judge?

I'm already looking forward to the Pasadena flea market. Garlien and I had a grea ttime there last year and I found some awesome freshwater gear deals.

B-Faithful 01-14-2010 07:40 AM

Judge wont be there. I am going to deliver marketing materials for a client who ordered stuff for the show late. I actually make my living working for a printing company. The Judge thing is just for fun.

Bend-Lure 01-15-2010 02:24 PM

So... How is the show this year? Any good deals?

B-Faithful 01-15-2010 04:08 PM

Show is about the same as last year.. I spoke to the MSSA guys who have a big booth. They were doing registration renewals and handing out tournament catalogs. They had some pretty sweat looking t-shirts for sale too. Always worth stopping and seeing them. Plus, I have to give Dave Smith an earful of my thoughts on the upcoming flounder regulations..

garlien 01-16-2010 10:19 PM

Show

The show had way too many boats too small/inexpensive for me or way over the top....Although those Parkers are beautiful....

Did get a couple of good leads on a T Top for my boat....

Not much in the way of fishing supplies either....One good thing was that it was a nice prep for the Pasadena Show....Cant wait for that...

I went ahead and signed up at the MSSA booth. $10 is cheap to have a say in matters. Plus the free Storms helped seal the deal. :D

I didn't buy too much. I usually only look for and buy things that I never see at Anglers or Bass Pro. Found some cool looking lures that'll probably never produce a strike.

Bought some nice hooks out of one of the clearance bins for my fishing trip to Lake El Salto this summer.

I could think of worse ways to spend a Sat afternoon. Lunch was good, as was the scenery at lunch. ;)

Give Billj a call on the T-top. He is not letting anyone beat him on pricing right now.

garlien 01-17-2010 03:53 PM
