5th Tuition Power Point 5/14

If anyone is interested; I will be giving a power point seminar on "Fish Handlers Disease" at the Pasadena Sportfishing Group meeting at Early Heights Fire Hall on Ritchie Highway. The meeting is Monday night (5/14) and the meeting starts 7:30 pm. Doors open at 6pm for food and drink.

The same organism (Mycobacteria marinum) that causes the human disease, also causes the sores and legions on rockfish.

If you want to find out about ways to protect yourself from exposure, come to the meeting, grab a beer and a hotdog:D, and heckle me during the presentation:eek:.

Captain John will be there selling the spoons he makes and the spreader bars and umbrellas we use for fishing after May15th when the regulations change and you can keep 2/day.

Rick from "Fish Off Gloves" is supposed to be there as well.

We all know I need to learn how to handle fish...

:)

I need to get a pair of those sweet gloves you have Marty...

I am hoping to be there on Monday asking questions like:

1> Can I get an STD from handling fish ? I remember an STD when I was younger and something that smelled like fish....

2> Does that sh#$@#t from the Patapsco give me AIDS ?

3> Is the brown water really diareha from the river gods ?

Marty - very kind of you to volunteer your time.

Doubt any one will heckle you - this is no joke.

Each year - hear more and more fishermen who have gotten it.

We'll just tease Capt. John on those funky spoon brellas :D.

Thanks Skip; and as far as the stuff Capt John will be selling, I like the spreader bars more than the umbrella. I find it easier to run two baits off the spreader and the spreader is a thicker wire (more durable).

His spoons have made a believer out of me. I run 5 spreader bars off my personal boat whenever trolling in the summer and early fall. They work great on 22-27 inch fish. Blues, rock, and spanish jump on them.

Marty, if the job intervire goes well tomorrow I'll be there tomorrow night and have a beer oe two with you.

If it doesn't go well, I'll already be smashed by the time I get there, and I'll have 6 or 9 more beers with you.

No work scheduled for the rest of this week so far.:D

Mike; several options.
-Capt John sell them out of his "South County Cafe" in Deale (do a google searsh to find his cafe). You can buy the spreader bars or his umbrellas with the spoons.

- George at Tylers Tackle sells the spreader bars and spoons seperately and you can put them together. I don't think George sells the teasers in metal, but you can use twister tails or eel tails as teasers. I like the metal teasers because they are so durable.

-Capt John also goes to SOME fleamarkets where you can buy them.

-Lastly, I have been known to pick them up from John and if you live in the Severna Park to BWI Airport area, I can deliver them to you;)

Marty, I regularly get down to the deale area so I will stop by the south county cafe.

thanks, Mike
