pax River fishing report

Went to the marina to bring the boat back North. Saturday the weather was so good decided to do a little river fishing. Nothing too intense just drowning some bait.

The spot are in the pax in huge numbers. Between 5 / 8" could have sunk the boat with them....

Caught some perch in the 10 " range for that fryer roughly 2 dozen.

Lots of croaker mostly small but did manage a dozen in the 14" range....

The secret for perch and croaker was to use large flicker hooks. With larger bait to intimdate the spot. pull the rig in slowly making the blade spin and game on. Blood worms and crab best bait

Time to clean the boat .... Headed back to the marshes next weekend in the skiff to chase the horse croaker and trout. Honga watch out.....

Not a bad way to end up down there. Good luck in the Honga, please be sure to let us know how that goes.
