Two fish, one spot
 

On yesterdays charter I had a first. We landed two rockfish on one spot at the same time. Angler was reeling in a mid 20's rockfish and one was following right behind it, so I netted them both at once despite only one being hooked. Talk about being a stupid fish and following the leader.

I have seen that as well and tried to get them both but I wasn't quite as quick with the net .... Nice job.

So all this time I've been waiting for the rockfish to eat the spot and all I had to do was cast the spot out, reel it in and net the rockfish behind it:rolleyes:. I guess I don't need as many spot as I thought.
Nice job on the net. I will be looking behind every fish I net from now on.

Greg- You're an Animal!!! That is one way to get a limit in a hurry! :)

Most captains let their customers catch the fish:D

I've seen fish follow lots of times, but never caught one.

I have to say that I released the fish. Everyone laughed that I as able to net it too. Stupid fish didn't really try to avoid me netting it either.

Had the same situation a few years ago chumming, except these fish were all above 30". Every fish hooked had another one right on his shoulder follow him to the boat. It was just my wife and myself, so we never tried to net the following fish, but we talked about trying it all day! Before anyone comments, we were H & L'ing.
