Can't even catch a break! 12/1
After a tough fishing day Friday, skipped Sat's trip and debated Sunday's trip. Just the bride and I headed out with a plan A and B. Heard from some professional fishermen there wasn't much happening down by the ES/BB so headed to Mike's North for a late lunch instead. Nice and flat out on the Bay for a change. Saw a knot of birds on the way to the Patapsco. Even though most were just sitting on the water, I slowly weaved around them to see what they were hiding...found nothing!!
Ran to Mike's, foaming at the mouth for bacon wrapped tenderloin and a crush. Lots of slips available but after all, it is Dec 1st. Walk up to the front door and see CLOSED FOR THE SEASON STARTING DEC 1ST :eek: Let some of the regulars there know with a quick text and got a suggestion of another place in the area. Start heading to Bodkin Creek while a nice guy calls to be sure the "Cheshire Crab" is open and damn if they aren't closed for the season as well  Licking my wounds (mainly 'cause I was starving by now) I headed back across the bay. I knew the Fish Gods would reward me for my effort by having a bunch of breaking big fish halfway home but that wasn't the case either. At least I was able to wash up the boat after finding working water (my dock water lines all froze and busted last week). Hungry and beaten, I came home with enough daylight to find that there was water in my lower unit oil on my 90 Honda  WTH?!?! I am almost looking forward to going to work tomorrow!! Thanks for the info/help today Mike and Marty!! Really thinking the trip to Solomons Thursday - Sat might not be such a good idea..... |
Sorry Jeff, you just couldn't catch a break:D

Thanks for the info on Mike's yesterday. Mike and I were seriously thinking of tying up there and just putting down some beers since there wasn't a single fish to be found.
Fortunately we had ample amounts of food and beer on the boat. :D |
