Tips for trolling near the bridge

Thanks for all the great info. Tomorrow is my 1st attempt at trolling in the CB. I'm leaving out of Fairwinds Marina on the Magothy. I'll probably cruise around for a while to get a feel for the water and depth but will pick a spot to troll. I would appreciate any tips on location, depth, etc.

First tip: Find an experienced crew who can help you. It is not rocket science but takes a long time to learn and things can go very bad very quickly.
Second tip: Go south from the bridge.
Third tip: Watch out for big cruisers with the autopilot on who don't see you. I was almost run over Sunday by a Hinkley picnic cruiser. With boards and 15 rods maneuvering is difficult.

I'm keeping it simple with a couple of rods to start. I don't anticipate using planer boards for a while

Good idea.....and that leads to the third tip: Don't be disappointed or get frustrated if you don't get any bites. Guys with decades of time on the bay are struggling to get bites still.

South of the bridge you'll see a bunch of anchored ships. Kent Island charter captains are saying they've been catching fish around there.

Duh......now I see that you posted this yesterday so you're out on the water now.

How'd you do?

I haven't spent much time with lines in the water. I spent a couple of days exploring the water and maybe an hour trolling. I'm going to try chumming around the bridge tomorrow.
