Key West Report
 

I got to spend my birthday in Key West this year...A friend of mine had 3 days of charters booked for he and his son..He said if you can make it to Key West, I will take care of all of the other expenses...I could not say no.

Before we arrived the winds were 15 to 20 every day and the day we left they were back up to 20 again...The 3 days in the middle when we were fishing were amazing...The highest the wind got while we were fishing was 6 to 7 MPH...:)

We spent all three days with a young captain (26) on a 33' foot Contender center console. What a great boat. Despite his age (his dad is a charter captain as well, and he worked for him until he decided to head out on his own) he was an amazing captain. Every day we came back into the marina we have the biggest and most fish of any boat. I will add his name later, once I find his business card.

Now to the good part....Just an amazing 3 days...The catch included Cobia, Baracuda, King Mackeral, Cero Mackeral, Yellow Tail Snapper, Lane Snapper, Mutton Snapper, Red Grouper, Black Grouper, Gag Grouper, Jack Crevalle, Greater Amberjack, Bonita, Blue Runner, Triggerfish, Grunt, Spinner Sharks, Black Tip Sharks, and a few others that I can't remember...Florida trips are always amazing to me, this was by far no exception.

I got lucky and have to be in Sarasota for a week next month...Already booked 2 days of fishing while I am there...Will be a blast...

Can't wait till the fish start showing up at home though...
