4/30 Wish I had something to report...

Tried in numerous locations above the bridge yesterday...Didn't see many boats, not much bait, and couldn't catch a single fish....Sounds like most of my spring so far...Thank god the fall was very good to me....

At least the weather is turning...Good luck to all this weekend !

Don't worry Mike; you're in good company. I've had a terrible spring (as far as catching goes). We did better during C/R. I think many of the fish left early this year (at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it).
I only see me doing a few more trips and then switching over to bait/livelinning soon. I may get Baldy to teach me how to jig a few fish until the spot return. Maybe I can learn on perch and move up to rock:D.

If I get out today or tomorrow I am going to bait and lures....

More fun to me that way anyway and if I am not catching anything either way....rather be doing it by relaxing and doing a little jig :)

Mike & Marty don't feel alone out of the two trips launched at SP we have tried shallow & deep with one fish to show for the two trips, think we're going to try livelining next time out if thr white perch cooperate, maybe the blues numbers will increase with the temps.
Marty if you learn to ltj from Baldy maybe you can show Shorty & I

Hang in there.

IMHO - I think the good bite is coming next week.
The water temps have stayed cooler then normal. The fish spawned and stayed in the rivers / upper bay. Plenty of bait and cool water - they are content to stay there until water warms enough to push them out.

So far 2010 has been awful for most when compared to last 4-5 years.

I am just tired of fishing and ready to start catching...Maybe the blues and the croakers will show up soon....

Caught a nice sized croaker 12" south of the 301 (Nice) bridge, lots of Channel cats (16) in the 2-5 Ib but got no hit from the Rocks. We were trying for anything at the power plant but not much luck.
