Transducer repair???

Can the transducer cable be repaired? Mine has a tear in the insulation, and slight damage to shield, probably from ice..

I would try slicing wire heat seal and wrapping it around the area and sealing it.

Also if cable has aluminum shield (looks like tin foil, not braided bonding wire) make sure to wrap aluminum foil around wire before sealing. If you don't you can get interference from nearby power cables. Also make sure leads are soldered together and not just twisted.

If the unit is working ok, I'd just seal the abrasion - try one of the liquid rubbers.
