Bay Bridge Report - 6/15 & 16

Got out on Thunder Road (the go-anywhere, anytime Judge light tackle edition) at the bridge for 90 minutes before dark tonight and the night before, evening incoming. Good bite last night and off the hook tonight with lots of fish on every piling. Plenty of keepers but nothing huge, some 26s and 27s. Some pilings loaded up with shorts. Two bite-offs. Water looks much better than last weekend. Three quarter ounce jig, reds and pinks.

was gonna text you to see where you've been. I figured you were keeping things quiet! Glad you got into a mess of fish. I poured jigs tonight wondering if anyone was catchin out there...

I left DC early tonight hoping to have more time and sat in traffic for two fuc&^* hours. Been hearing of good bites farther south but just can't get to them. Nobody fishing this week. Saw one boat last night, some Asian guys bottom fishing who I gave another fish too, and not one single boat tonight at the bridge.

Thanks for the report Shawn:). Very nice seminar at PSG the other night. I learned a few things (from both you and Bill).

Uh oh, did Bill share some of those "fishing lures" he had in his pocket with you too?

Great, so not only did the SOB make me late for fishing, but he's trashing the water in the process.

hopefully it just evaporated into the air. He was by the airport, so thats a distance from a waterway.

About 3 weeks ago there was another epic 2+ hour commute. DOn't know if you saw that one, but a tractor-trailer was parked on the shoulder of the ramp from OL 495 to Rt 50 East, and some sedan must have come off the exit at 100mph and ran itself up under the trailer past the back window, so all you could see was some trunk out the back.

Which increased the rubbernecking 10,000 fold. I do wish they would stop the truckers from stopping there. I've stood on the brakes far too many times yeilding to their gross tonnage when they pull out after a nap.

Glad you got on the fish, I'm listening and soaking up the info like a sponge. I had a 12 hr day Weds then heard aobut 50 so I left the city on Conn Ave and took 95 to 100 to get home...only took 1-1/2 hrs...guess that's better then sitting on 50.

I remember years ago a horrible story.....there had been a fatal accident on 50 involving a minivan and a truck...the woman and child were both killed. A guy working in DC had sat in the traffic for almost 3 hrs...when he got up to the accident scene, he...well, you know what he found.....it was his family........when I get stuck in traffic I remind myself about that poor guy....and waiting doesn't bother me so much...helps keep things in perspective.
