Wow, this video was just posted a few days ago from Jersey. What are these fish doing way up there already? Looks like our fishery in December at Point Lookout.

I hope the link works. If not, can some computer wizard fix it for us:D

Hmmm...... Anyone remember me posting about this exact style of fishing that I do here on the Chesapeake?
Guess you won't be able to find a cast net in stores anymore around here.

The charter boats are killing them in NJ right now. A buddy went out Friday in a party of 8 and limited out by 7:30 and that includes spending time snagging bunker.
In case you didn't know, there are big schools of bunker just under the surface that you can spot even without birds working. You drag a weighted treble hook through the school until you have 4-5 bunker per man. Then you use the bunker for livelining. The tackle is the same as livelining spot in the summer so a 40 inch fish is lots of fun on a 7 foot rod and 4000 series spinning reel.
I live in New Jersey during the week but have a place in St Michaels for weekends.
Trolling is also different. Two rods with bunker spoons on wire line.
