Report, 11/25
Hey guys,
Luanched in Solomons in my buddy Franko's boat. Headed down a little ways and put them in east of the Targets. At first it was slow goings with a few fish on the deep rods. We were marking lots of bait but it was deep and glued to the bottom. We trolled around and decided the best was where were we started but the fish didn't want to bite. Around 11:30 or so, the bait starting moving off the bottom and getting more suspended and then the clouds started moving to the top third of the water column. Almost immedietly, it all busted wide loose and we ended the day with several doubles, lots of madness and some big fish. We ended up with 13 (or lets say between 11 and 15) fish and a few over 40 but none over 43" or so. All in all a good day once it started. Here's one of the nicer ones. http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47b9...D550/ry%3D400/ |
Nice looking fish Francis. We also had a decent morning further north. Pretty nasty out there.................Mark

wow!!!! nice fish. why did i winterize the boat.
keep the reports up I can dream . |
I like your report Francis, especially how you detailed the bait and fish starting on the bottom and moving up through the water column.
We fished the MSSA and noticed the bait and fish we all deep after 9am or so. We had an early bite then it shut off. Not sure if it was just an early bite or boat pressure made the fish go deep, but as soon as the bait was deeper than 20-30' the bite was over. |
Thanks Paul,
I truly believe that fish are kind of like deer. They don't eat all day. Sometimes they just hang out. With deer, I guess you call it bedding down. I don't know what it's called when you fishing. Whatever it's called, if the fish aren't biting, you're not catching them. . . |
Nice report Francis and glad you were able to wait out the bait coming to the surface. We had a bunch of boats in the TPL area for such lousy weather. I was amazed. Our bait stuck to the bottom, but did manage a few...Don

Thanks for the report Francis. Just out of curiosity, do you know what the tide was doing when the bait moved up?
