trolling bite starting
Saturday - After a slow LTJ bite (some dinks, a couple low 20"ers, and one ~30") we moved to trolling and hooked up with not a lot of time with lines in the water.
Water temps were 39-41 degrees BTW. https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...89&oe=5B40A20F Sunday - Willy P. got a nice on trolling on his new 36 Judge https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...4b&oe=5B3487CC |
Nice fish!
Love the twin Suzuki 350's. I'm assuming they're twins and there's not a third one that can't be seen in the picture?:eek: |
That is Bill Judge's 36 Chesapeake with twin 350 Zukes. Doesnt need triples. It does around 52mph with twins.

The trolling bite hasn't started for us yet:mad:
We were out yesterday morning scraping ice off the boat (Capt John's Boat) at 7am. We dropped 6 boat rods off the back because the "marks" we saw were 50 ft down:eek: No bait on the screen, but we did see about 20 gannets flying today:) Close to 10am; with the sun higher in the sky, we put out one board and had 4 lines off board and two deep lines. No jellies yet:D Trolled until about noon without even a knockdown. Capt John did cook us lunch onboard, so that was great:):) Unfortunately, his mate from last year had to take a "real" job, so if you or anyone you know is looking for a position, let Capt John know. 5th |

Splashed my boat on Saturday afternoon. Went for a ride to make sure everything was working and check to see if we could see any activity.
Didn't mark anything north of the bridge on the eastern side. We marked a lot of fish near Matapeake in 80' of water. They were all holding at about 60'. Water temp was a balmy 43°. A few warm days should help bring the bite on. |
Well; it finally happened for us. We took Bruce's boat (Hook Em) out for a shakedown cruise and picked up a nice fat 43 inch pig:D
Headed to a meeting tonight, so no time for the pic. I have to get it off my phone and onto the "Puter" I'll post the photo later:) 5th |

Oh Heck; I can be a bit late for a meeting:D
First fish of the season for me. Thanks Bruce:) p.s. We also saw the Coast Guard training vessel "Eagle". And, I always love seeing the wake of a fishing boat headed home:D 5th |
And it appears to be above the bridges?
