Banged 9 ov' 'em today..argh...
I went out with the normal crew. Me, myself, and I went to go get 'em. I had promised a friend a pair of 'em. She has family coming in Sat. a.m..
I has been National f' with Jimbo week. The Rockfish were clued into this too. Long story short...got a 17 and one 1/2 longer in 50' near 84A. Winds kicked up good outta the SW....headed towards the 85A. Boated 7 more fish, had a hit-anda-miss, and lost one while trying to steer the boat. No auto-pilot sux. I had 4 boat rods, I couldn't re-do the spread after it was set. I had 2'ers slamming me broadside. The hit-and a miss came off a Storm-brella. ALL the other hits, and fish came off a tandem rigged white bucktail umbrella with twister tails, 20 oz. at 5 bars. The other 2 rods were untouched. I guess, not bad being solo for 3 hours. Not skunked, but no 18"s. Tight lines, Jim |
I wonder why "18" is the magic number. Messin' with anything under "18" will get you in a load of trouble.:eek:Did all you guys get along good today:D............Gary

Still beat working....:D
Trolling solo is very hard to do....especially with wind..glad you got out.....and thanks for the report.. |
Jim,
Thanks for the same heads up at the shop. We swapped out an 8 ounce in line for a 12 on a 4/6" storm combo, and wanted to add an in line to a 4/5 oz 6-inch bucktail combo but didn't have the leader. We got no knockdown trolling on Friday, and no joy chumming (lots of marks at Bloody), but the 12-inch croaks at the green can saved the day. Thanks Again, and congratulations on the catching! Don |
