Fishing Log
I want to set up a logbook on my computer but I don't know what info to record,i.e. what info/data effects the fishing. I don't want to record a lot of useless info. When you are trying to steer, land fish, and record data there isn't much time to write. I do record length and girth of fish. However, should I record moon phase, tide(rising, falling) current flow (flood, ebb). Those of you that do keep a fishing log, what do you record?

The more info you can record - the better. Little things might not seem important at the time but are really key factors.
I read over my logbooks often - really helps keep things fresh in my memory. On tough days - little forgotten tactics can pay off. I put wind speed / direction current direction / tide phase overall weather lures / baits that worked and ones that did not water clarity / temp I draw a rough map of my day's travel One thing to include - anything you heard about. I might be after Rock but will record if a buddy caught Croakers early. |
