Skip, I already did the 30' boat with 11' beam and twin engines... luckily I went back to a trailerable single 4 stroke before gas went through the roof. I dont envy your fuel bills :)

Damn Greg, how many sweet boats have you had:eek: Was that before the Maycraft?

Good thing you swap out boats and not wives:D

Marty, boats are less expensive to swap out than wives..

I owned that boat from 2003-2005. Sold it to get the Maycraft in 2005, which I sold to have the Judge built in 2008.

Before the 2950 I had a 1997 Pro-line 231, which I bought after moving up here from SC and getting married.

Here is the 231 I owned as she was up for sale (I already owned the 2950 and was a 2 boat owner at the time:o)

Before living in SC, I ran my family's 1970 John Allmand 23 out of Avalon NJ that was in the family since 1970.

My dad sold ithe Allmand to get his 27 Judge in 2006. Here is my dad's Judge:

I guess I should have taken up a career in printing:D

I've had a 14ft fiberglass rowboat with Chrysler motor.
A 17 ft McKee craft cc with 115 Suzuki.
A NEW 22ft Angler W/A with 200 Yamaha.
A 27 Judge Chesapeake with 225 Honda.

I started my bay activities with my Dads 15ft Thunderbird trihull with 70hp Yamaha bought new from Jenkins Marine on Ritchie Hwy.
Man, I thought I was King of the Magothy.

Good memories,
5th

P.s. now that I think about it, it was an evenrude motor.

Printing and mail marketing industry used to be very good in Maryland.. No so much any more. I think the industry contracted by about 33%. Today I wish I had a govt job like you with a pension and govt benefits.

Once the printing industry dropped I started helping market boats for a local builder that liked to help cover costs. Now i even have my charter license to offset some of the cost and for tax purposes this year. I may start running some trips this summer. Good thing is the boat is paid for..

John Allmand...don't hear that name too much. Back in the 70s I bought my grandfather's 28' John Allmand Sport Fisher and kept it on the Rhode. Sweet boat...twin 255 merc commanders, 200 gal gas tank, 100 gal fresh water, a/c, generator, frig, yada yada. Now that sucker could burn some fuel but at less than a buck a gal it was tolerable:D

Don, that is a 1970 John Allmand 23 Citation. It had a 165hp straight 6 mercruiser. It has a cruise of 18 knots at 3200rpms but was as fuel efficient as can be. It was in our family since 1970. My great uncle owned it from 1970 to around 1980 when my dad took it over. My dad owned the boat from 1980 or so until 2006 when he sold it. That was 36 years of use in our family and repowered at least 3x. I caught more fish on that boat than any other. I have landed everything from a 100+lb bluefin on a Penn 4/0 senator to coolers full of flounder, weakfish, tog, sea bass, all kinds of sharks, stripers, etc.

Here are some shots and details on her:
