And while you are storing your boat there, ask Bill to build you a Chesapeake 36 to replace it. You won't regret it. We just got back from our second trip up north with Conjuror...to the Vineyard and Cape Cod. Numerous trips offshore in all kinds of weather (and only one instance when we forgot to close the portholes in heavy seas...:o....big debate about whether that was the crew's fault or the captain's by the way ). We cruised at an average of just under 27 kts and burned 16 gal per hour on the way up and back. The 36 handled amazing well...the typical afternoon 10-15 kts from the SW up there produces seas that we would say are really rough on the Bay...and she just ate them up. She fished great. We trolled for tuna and bonito, and fished the rips for big bass and slammer blues, and she is a great boat for both, even with a big crew. Plenty of room to sleep and with the full galley and genset we were all set, even on a mooring. Just a great boat all around. A long trip tells you an awfull lot about a boat...and I can tell you Bill builds a great one!! (sorry to hijack your thread Bill)

Wow, that's quite a trip for a 36 Bay boat.....

I am looking forward to following your lead and some day my "Judged-UP" Markely will make that run up north for the Martha's vineyard Derby.

:D OF course, I will not be doing any 27 knots unless there is a 10 knot following sea....:D
