eeling

Went out on my friends 21 Proline yesterday. Got out around 9:00 and stayed north of Tolchester and fished some humps and drop offs drifting eels. Ended up with a 28 and a 24" and a big catfish. Current didn't last long.
Ended up at Hodges jigging some small metal jigs for perch and didn't get a bite.

Yes, you can catch some nice cats on eels. I hate to say it but the cats fight harder than rockfish. Fishing eels is OK but a pain when boats pull up within 10 feet of you after you catch one:mad:. The fish seem to gather in very small holes, and you need to be right on top of them. I would rather troll or live line.

I NEVER would have thought they would bite an eel. I still have so much to learn from my fore-fathers! 😳😜
