Non catching report

Trolled the BPL area with Greg on the BFaithful this afternoon. Found some marks but everything was deep, 40' and below. Didn't get a knockdown but we weren't upset, what a great day to be on the water. Water was flat calm and there wasn't any current to speak of. Guess the cold weather and fish being further offshore has delayed the migration pattern. Nice seeing and chatting with 5th on the water. Hope you were able to get a few bites on the jig.

I trolled for a short while out of CB yesterday, didn't mark a single fish in the channel.

At least you gave it a good try on a nice day.
Hopefully the water warms up a few more degrees and that gets the fish here.

Thought Judges were skunk resistant :D

Not a boat in sight on a beautiful day...catching a fish wouldn't have mattered to me. You guys made out better than me, I was working on the water today- next best thing I guess...

Don't worry boys... I'm headin out tomorrow, 39.9"er for sure.. put your money on it! :D Gonna help Mlag blow the snow off his boat tomorrow. Even if that's all we do, "blow the snow off the boat", be heck of a lot better then sitting round the house wishin i was on the water!

It was fantastic to see the surface water temps range between 41 and 44 degrees. Full moon is the 26th. My bet is that the fish migrate up the bay around the full moon with the good night light and higher tides.

BTW, 5th Tuition got some DNR brownie points with his 6 rod spread. :p

We pulled 13 rods with white planer board and no flags just to be crazy :D

13 rods - are you serious
12 or 14 is OK but never , ever 13 - bad a$$ voodoo there.

Next you'll tell us your first turn was to port - we all know how bad that is

Now wonder you did not get a hit :D:D

It was a great day on the water. Only marks we saw were deep also. Just wanted to do a shakedown cruise but couldn't help but put six rods over (with stingers and barbs) to check out the motor at trolling speed.
Coming up Ritchie Hyway with the boat; the truck just died:eek:. Drifted to the side of the road and she just wouldn't turn over again for me. Called a fishing buddy who was on his way home from work and he towed the boat home for me. I returned to the truck and still not turning over. Towed to Bob Bell Ford and we will see what they say tomorrow (fuel pump maybe).
I always told my kids when they were growing up, "if money can fix the problem, it's not that bad". :D
It's going to rain the next couple days, so I should be back on track for next week.
We started trolling March 17th last year (and catching), but I just couldn't pass up a day like today.
Good to see Greg and his crew out there today. Not much bait, fish, or birds
working anywhere today.
Best of luck to Mark (Mlag) tomorrow. If anyone can find them, he can.

I looked at the log book I caught my first blue around April 2nd. I am sure I can repeat this year.
