Sent a message to all who could vote on this - We don't need more fees....

Nic Kipke has responded by saying "This is outrageous !" and will vote against....

Let's get all our reps on the same page....

Text of the bill can be found here:

http://mlis.state.md.us/2012rs/bills/hb/hb1307f.pdf

Raises the cost of a dealer's license application from $25 to $100.

Doesn't sound like much, but help me out math whizzes....wouldn't that be a 300% increase?

Reduces the validity of a temporary boat number from 90 days to 60 days.

I've never bought a new bought before....is this a big deal? At face value it doesn't seem to be.

But HOLY CRAP the 2 year registration fees are going through the roof!!!

And if you want a replacement copy of your title? Not $2 anymore (which I agree is on the cheap side...even though it took the clerk less than 40 seconds to process my request and take my money when I was there earlier this year.) 40 seconds of time, plus postage, an envelope and one piece of paper printed should NOT COST $25 as proposed.

I understand the cost of operations, but for the state to blatantly bust our backs to MAKE MONEY on these mandatory services (if you own a boat) is outrageous to me.

No surpise here, but Delegate Dwyer opposes the bill as well.

Awaiting responses from my 3 in D-30, but Mike Busch rarely sees a tax or fee hike that he doesn't like.
