Fresh start

Thanks for the suggestion to move over to this forum. More fishing, less politics and aggravation.

Capt. Charlie 03-17-2012 01:39 PM

Hey Jim......I just made the move, yesterday! Same reasons as you.

I'm all about the fishing.......and a little good natured aggravation among friends. :D (which I'm learning to understand happens more than I know)

Dont care much for bickering though. I'd rather catch fish and hear advice from the guys that catch more than me.

Welcome aboard Jim!

Hey Charlie. I need to give it a rest and get back to the business of fishing and crabbing. Life is too short. Hope you're doing well and pls. post some foxes pictures this year. Good clean fun.

Wax On, Wax Off

I went to Walmart this morning --- picked up 5 cans of wax and some mits because I plan to work out my elbows this week.

Ha. We have a function in Baltimore tonight, one of her friend's 50th birthday party. Heading out now.

ste6168 03-17-2012 06:18 PM

I am now starting to wonder when the chief angler himself is going to get fed up and make the transition to the CBA. :D

Skip 03-17-2012 06:34 PM

CBA is much calmer then TF. Hopefully none of the trouble makers wander over here.

Nice thing - most every one knows each other here.

Few weeks ago - there was even an informal get together at local tavern.

ste6168 03-17-2012 06:46 PM

I don't know many of you personally, but know a lot of your names. Some of you may know my face, or my girlfriends, as she works full time at Anglers, and I work there once in a while as well... I would love to get to know more people as involved, or more, in the sport than I am though. I am working on it!

Heck we've probably spoken a few times. I was in there at least 3 times this year....bought grass shrimp a couple of times (like a lot of other people I'm sure!)

I live right across the street practically......in Cape St Claire.

It's possible. I don't work there all that often though, good chance you have seen/ spoken to the girl though... I live right up the road from ya in Arnold, and actually teach tech Ed at Broadneck high right in cape there. Anyone have kids at Broadneck? We should set up a parent teacher conference

Small world indeed, Mr. Ste

My daughter had your class last year and will be taking the second semester of the class next year. We tried to make a move out of state but it didn't work out or else she woulkd have completed it already.:(

Our last name ends in "ski" :D

reds 03-18-2012 08:30 AM

Ah Censorship.

I'm sure the boys who have lost their lives in America's past appreciate it.

Have been trying to figure this out all day, and I just can't seem to think of who your daughter could be... Any other hints you are to give? Either way, all the more reason to plan a fishing trip, right? ;)

With so many kids at Broadneck it's a wonder you can remember who's in the classes you're teaching today, let alone the ones from a year or two ago.

Definitely time for a fishing trip, but in the meantime it's also about time for another social gathering. The last time a bunch of us met at Howard's in Linthicum and had a great time.

We could do that again or hit another favorite dive, "Larry's Tavern" on Elvaton Rd.:D

I'm putting Marty in charge of the CBA Social Club.

I am all in for that!

on the fishing front... I built a new set of planer board masts and installed dedicated rod holders on the side of my cuddy (for the masts) yesterday. Making backing boards to reiforce the fiberglass where they are installed today, will finish the install and test the tomorrow after school. Although I don't plan to troll much this year, I am ready for it!

Cool! Do you keep your boat in the water? If not, where do you normally launch from?

ste6168 03-20-2012 06:08 AM

I am a trailer boater. I typically launch at Sandy Point although I will sometimes launch at LJ Marina or spa creek, as well as trailer around to some other places (ES, Delaware, Further South) in the summer. I have considered slipping the boat the past two seasons, but it's just not worth it for me living 5 min from Sandy Point.

Blakesdad 03-20-2012 07:14 AM

What up Jim !!!!
Dont mean to piss on your Fresh Start Parade, but I'm here:D:D:D

Miss speaking with you, WELCOME:cool:

garlien 03-20-2012 10:39 AM

Agreed with Scott on another informal meeting...Need to do it before April has us all busy woking on boats, and getting out to fish...

Although I love Howard's and I have spent way too many nights at Larry's...The weather is getting to the point where it might be nice to find someplace that has an outside area for us all to enjoy one of these nice evenings...As long as the drinks are cheap, the waitresses are hot, and the food is good...I am in !

Bamboo Bernies meets most of that criteria

Rivercat09 03-20-2012 12:38 PM

Jim & Charlie,

Welcome aboard! This board is definitely more "no-nonsense"

Heck a lot of us are sporting top notch farmer tans already this year. Last week was AWESOME for being out fishing. And getting that tan.:D

JimRockfish 03-22-2012 01:25 PM

I'm just getting into it, so far so good. Waxing the SeaSwirl hull today. Fishing the Boatyard C&R this year as mate on a friend's boat. Glad 1032 went as expected
