MD DNR Grade
Do you remember the numbers of rockfish in the bay AFTER the moratorium? It was crazy. If you put out all your fishing lines, and didn't have several fish in the cooler before you finished setting lines, you were doing something wrong:eek:
I was going to ask you to grade the performance of Maryland's DNR in keeping this stock viable, but I have to confess, the Atlantic Marine Fisheries has a whole lot more to answer to than just Maryland. There isn't a place or time that these fish go, that they aren't in season and being hammered. How did we get to this predicament? If your Grandfather left you 10 million dollars in his will, and you blew it to the point that you had to go back to work for a living, that would be a fair analogy. When you go the the Fishing Flea Markets, look for the DNR booth and ask them what grade they would give themselves for the managing of the rockfish stock in Maryland. What do you think their answer will be:eek::eek: They are going to get tired of me searching them out and asking this question at every fee market opportunity. Another example of Government inept management (as if that were hard to find):) How do we (is it at all possible) go about making them responsible for their actions (or inactions). You can tell winter is here when posts like this pop up:mad: 5th |
Maybe things will change when Elizebeth Warren becomes president😎 with her American Indian heritage we will be fishing with primitive gear!

Marty, I need some clarity please- did your Grandfather leave you $10M?? If you still have it, I’d like to marry you. Don’t worry, it won’t be for very long, just long enough to get MY 1/2. I deserve it!!:p:p
