July 2nd report

Trolling hite sucked for me today. Left the dock at 6:45 after waiting for Tow Boat US to show up because THEIR boat was 1/2 sunk. (They were 2 slips down from us)
Pulled hoses of various color, a BFG tandem, and a spoon all on planers (but the BFG). The spoon caught 1 short fish. Quit about 9:30. Fished south of the fleet of chummers that were all over my spot from the previous 2 weeks. Guess it's not longer a secret spot......

Same for me... Spent about 2 hours and headed back home.

My crew and I did ok Saturday. We kept the 3 fish that we wanted with the biggest being 28". We did hook one that I believe to be over 35" and closer to 40". We of course caught it on a way back red tube. I told my buddy that was reeling it in to not pump the rod after about half way in because he would spit the hook. Well, sure enough in the attempt to dip it, we gave it some slack and it was gone. I did have the leader and it did touch the net so I consider it a caught fish, lol. So maybe it was closer to 50" now that it's the one that got away.
