Power source for GPS & FF
 

Jim, speaking of power issues with electronics.....

i sometimes have an issue with my HDS units going blank when i start the motor after a drift, etc...not all the time...may once every ten starts but it is a PITA when it happens.
my starting battery is new, this season, but may be borderline for the motor CCA's.

what is your opinion about connecting my GPS & FF to my trolling motor battery?

i don't use it all that often and it never gets the big instantaneous drain like starting the motor.

Sounds it would solve your problem. Does your trolling motor battery charge while the engine is running? If so then go for it.
