First fish for 2016

Had 2 of my friends with me for a shakedown cruise yesterday. Boat ran great and weather was beautiful after the fog left the bay. Deployed my new trex boards and they tracked nicely ( thanks Tawn for the plans). Set a 6 rod spread of 5 board rods 2- 9 0z umbrellas and 2 4 0z umbrellas and a tandem 4oz and 2oz, and a deep umbrella off the boat with 28 oz. No marks on the east side from LP Bouy to bridge but we turned and ran north with the incoming tide and found some fish just north of the bridge on the west side. Got a 40" fish on a 4 0z umbrella back 80 feet off of the board and had a knock down on the tandem rig also back 80 feet. Water temp varied between 48 to 50 degrees but I'm not sure that my temp gauge is correct. Lots of trash logs, wood etc. in the upper bay from LP north. I will post a pic when I get them downloaded.

Damn Bruce what a way to do a shakedown! Hope the season continues this good for you! Glad to see your enjoying your retirement already.

Sounds like a good day to me. Hopefully the trash in the water goes away before I splash my boat on April 2nd. By trash i mean logs etc. not Jeff. I know how your guys brains work...:D
