Cheat Sheet

Besides Tawn:D; does anybody have a "cheat sheet" for when they return to the slip (or when trailering).

I figure I can make a small laminated credit card size sheet to keep in my walet. Here's what I have come up with, what do I need to add?

1) Motor Up
2) Flush Motor
3) Electronics Off
4) Batteries Off
5) Windows/Hatch Closed
6) Cabin Locked
7) Water Off/Hose Coiled
Trailering
- Antenna Down
- Anchor Light Down
- Trailer Strap

Somwtimes, I'm in such a rush to get off the boat and back home, I get ten miles down the road and start to wonder, "Did I lock the cabin?":D

Getting old is a _itch:eek:

But then you have to put a note on the dashboard of your truck reminding you to look at the card in your wallet:confused:rolleyes:

Bruce, you don't know how close you are:eek: When the boat is in the driveway, all loaded up and ready to go, I crank the trailer's front wheel down to take pressure off the springs of the truck. I then lean a block of wood against the trucks brake so it has to be removed in the morning before I drive off:D

I haven't left the driveway without cranking up the wheel:):)

Trailer strap?? What's that? What are you a sissy? I don't recommend those things at all. :D

I prefer the audio version.

Snap - antenna was up.

Beep , beep , beep - Net blew out and hit car behind boat.

Screech , OOOK - thud - Cooler fell off transom and 18 wheeler crushed it.

Twang - Rod was left in hardtop holder.

Flappa , flappa - side curtain not zipped tight.

Oh , F*ck - buddy sees he left his rod in rod rack ( after going under bridge ).

Snap , crackle , POP - Outrigger was up and hit electric wires.

I've heard the "snap" before on my old boat:mad:

My wallet is not big enough to hold Don's checklist:D

Here is my checklist Marty was referring to. I guess it comes from 24+ years on submarines....we don't do ANYTHING without a checklist.

I can't tell you how many times it has saved me from having to return to the boat to turn off the battery switch or to get my cell phone.

It's about a 10" X 16" engraved placard I had made at a local trophy shop.
