March 6 Meeting with Kevin Josenhans

Join us March 6, 7:30pm at Steamers in Bethesda for another great meeting. Our guest speaker will be Kevin Josenhans:

Captain Kevin Josenhans has been a professional guide on the Chesapeake Bay for twenty years. A bay area native, Kevin has fished the Chesapeake extensively for over forty years; from it's source on the Susquehanna River to the mouth of the bay at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. Captain Josenhans will be sharing his intimate knowledge of the Tangier sound flats wrt fishing for specks, reds and rockfish. This is a must for all light tackle anglers.

Monthly raffle, fishing reports, beer, grub will all be similar to the Feb meeting i.e. awesome. Meetings are open to all. Join us.

Trout Unlimited Fishing Show Sunday March 10 @ Georgetown Prep

DCMSSA has a table at the annual fishing show at Georgetown Prep 10am - 5pm on March 10. Please let me or Zach Karr know if you can help educate local anglers on the benefits of MSSA, and our chapter. We will also be promoting Kid's day and selling a few of the remaining raffle tickets.

Spring Charter with Capt Greg Buckner

Due to an overwhelming response we have added a second boat for the DCMSSA spring charter trip. The Ms Susie filled up in 48 hours. We already have six anglers for a second boat. The trip is Noon on April 25 from Solomon's Island. The second boat will be the Rod Bender which is a couple of slips away from Ms Susie. We all sail at noon and return to the same dock. This will make for some great friendly competition. We will all enjoy a beverage at the Tiki Bar after the trip. There are currently Four spots open on the Rod Bender. Send your check for $115 payable to DCMSSA to my office. The next 4 checks I receive will reserve the spots.

DCMSSA Kid's Day Raffle

Kid's day raffle tickets are available for sale. Tickets are $10 each and we are selling a maximum of 300. Proceeds will fund the third annual DCMSSA Kid's Fishing Day in Sept 2013. Last year DCMSSA provided a day fishing for 50 local kids who otherwise would not have had the chance. All kids were provided a great time, lunch, a rod/reel to take home with thiem and some great memories. By purchasing a 2013 DCMSSA Kid's day raffle ticket you help make the upcomng kid's fishing event our best yet. Tickets will be available at all meetings or I would be happy to send you a stack by mail.

This year's prize is worth over $1,200 and includes:

Fully paid trip for up to four (4) anglers with Walleye Pete on his 27' Four Season's guide service charter boat.
Two (2) St Croix light tackle jigging rods
Two (2) Shimano Stradic 2500 reels with 15# braided line
Two (2) Light tackle kits including topwater lures, jigs, plastics etc
Two (2) St Croix hats
