Trolling 21 Nov

Undecided about launching in the Patapsco tomorrow (5 min from home) or trailering down to Sandy Point (30 min).

Any last minute suggestions?

Either way, I'll be on the water tomorrow trying to get the skunk off my boat. Hail me on 68 if you'd like.

Just read that a 50" fish was caught Saturday just N of the Bay Bridge if that helps influence your decision.:)

Neighbors are still finding decent amounts of fish right outside of the Magothy. Not reporting any hawgs though.

Follow-Up

Well, shucks...

We launched out of stoney creek and headed to the mouth of the Patapsco. My brother sets the lines while I drive. I told him lightest weights should be on the longest lines, furthest outboard. Then heavier, shorter lines, closer inboard...

He sets all the lines - when I watch him rig the last one I notice he's using 1' leaders. I ask him what the heck he's doing - he should be using the 12' leaders?!? He tells me that's how he's rigged them all. And that's how he rigged them all last trip too. (with one footers).

So, we pull all the lines and I show him where the 12' leaders are - and we set them all again.

Anyway - finally fishing around 0830am. Trolled until 1200pm. Finally gave up and called it a day.

No runs / No hits / a few errors.......

Skunked again. Getting used to it I'm afraid.

But as far as intel goes: I saw nice color up and down the red side (northern side) of the Brewerton Channel. Looked best when I was in roughly 35' water (fish holding around 25' deep). Just couldn't get anything to bite. We trolled 4oz/8oz tandems, a chartruse daisy chain, a chartrusse/white crippled alewive, and parachutes w shads. Not much sun, mostly cloudy and no wind (very flat).

Spott,

Are they trolling at the mouth of the Magothy (or chunking)?

I'm thinking of trying some chum/bait next time. I have had NO LUCK trolling for a while.

Trolling. From a distance I saw what looked like tandems and shads rigged up on one of the boats, but I didn't really get much more info. Sorry. :(

I have to do some work down at our boat ramp today so I'll keep an eye and ear open to see what's coming in.
