Fishing Friday

I am planning to take Dad fishing on Friday. We will probably hit the water around 2pm, leaving his pier in Middle River. I plan to troll some spoons, storms, and hoses out in the channel by Pooles Island, and then fish the bottom for perch in the evening. I don't fish the bay much in the summer, so any ideas would be appreciated. Anybody doing anything north of the bridge??

thanks, and see you out there.

I keep my boat in the same area and too would love some tips on fishing in that area...never had any luck!

I usually start at one of the MARI reefsites. Good perch fishing. Here is a map with reef locations and coordinates: http://www.dnr.state.md.us/fisheries/reefs/

So how did you do over by pooles?

I trolled around for about an hour. Hoses, spoons, storm shad. Marked a ton of bait (or something) in the deep water. One run off, nothing landed. Trolled the channel edges and a couple of the reef sites. We stowed the trolling gear and did some perchin'. We caught some nice white perch, some spot that would have been perfect for live-lining, and a bunch of catfish. Fun day on the water with dad.
