Scary couple of minutes Saturday 4/28-Video

Had quite a scare on Saturday when we noticed a 20' (maybe bigger) log/tree right in front of the boat as we were trolling. We saw it at the last minute and didn't have time to react, so we just hung on tight.

It momentarily was lodged in the lower unit, but then it cleared itself. Then it floated right into our spread and we feared the worse. Thought for sure it would at least take out all of our boat rods. Right at that moment we hooked a fish on a deep boat rod. The fish came up and over the log, and every other line must have done the same thing. Never lost any tackle. Pretty amazing.

Got it on video, but the quality isn't great. Lots of wind noise....

Hope you buy a lottery ticket - that was very good luck.

Skip I think he already used up that luck avoiding that near disaster.

Glad you guys are OK. Wow almost a near disaster and you snag the fish that was using the log to hide from the armada of trolles…….:D

at least is was at trolling speed and not full out run.:eek::eek:

We saw a little bit of debris out today but nothing that big.....we managed to keep our spread off of a pretty good sized piece of wood today, but it was close.
