planer board clips

I found these online and the 4 packs work out to be less than $4 per clip for the medium tension. Has anyone use these and would the mediums work well for solo and tandem chutes?

Greg, I use the Sotty release clips. They run about 5 bucks a piece with the shower curtain clip. If you buy in bulk (50) the price is about 4 bucks each. Fishing off a Judge you would be better off buying in bulk, you'll use quite a few:D. Or you could find someone else who is looking to make the switch from rubber bands and split the bulk quantity. Also check the shows coming up, you might get a good deal on the ones with the carabiners. Worth the extra buck in my opinion.

I have a couple of them. They're the last ones I reach for. I have a hard time with even big fish popping the clip. The lining inside the jaws of the clip grips too well. I haven't tried them with braid, though, so that may be a little better.

I bought mine from Todd's Tackle and they work well. Not sure of the brand, but they have 2 positions depending on the line. You can pull the clip all the way out for braid or half way out for mono.
