I just have a "mud slip" for now, but even at the lowest of tides I have about 18 inches of water under mine. We don't require use of the mud slips to keep them.
The bigger slips however, can only sit vacant for a very short time.
The trick is to get a mud slip and then put your name on the "wait to move" list. That list goes faster. It took me 6 years to get my current slip.
I *think* the sign at DNR said they accept cash, checks and money orders.
