Default Trolling sure seems challenging these days

Due to the crappy forecast, we left the dock at 7:30 this AM instead of 4:30. Cruised down to the only spot in the entire bay with fish apparently and started out trolling at the top of the bar. Skirted the outside of the fleet and trolled down to Swan Point. VERY little on the screen and even less on the hooks. We threw in the trolling towel and went to anchor up. Found a few fish in 12’ of water and began feeding them. (PS- I hate chum)
After a dozen or so shorts and some missed fish, we decided to call it a day and get in before the sky opened up on us. Just as I called it, we got a huge run off and the 16 y/o kid visiting from Kansas landed a 34.5” rock!! He was very jacked after the shorts he had reeled in. Unfortunately it was plagued with sores so back it went. Considering it was the first time the kid had ever caught a fish in his entire life, it was a good day!!! He will at least have a good story to tell Dorethy and Toto when he gets back home.

PS- I hate chum!!
