After you learn how to hold your rod right, you then have to know how to hold your mouth right.
I put my little finger and ring finger behind the reel steam and all my other fingers go in front of it. I like to have my fingers on the fore grip and thank God I hold the rod in my left hand because if it was my right I'm not sure what I would do being fingerless.
Like Skip I do have a callous from holding it this way but it feels right.
