Default I'm Back!

I stayed an extra week in Deale because the fish were still biting I had a good trip with Bruce and Dan (Thanks Frankie) and then had a nice spontaneous trip with Capt John and Mlag to Eastern Bay.
But alas, it was time to head home and leave my friends in Deale

Lucky for me, the fish have once again taken up residency off Love Point and the Chester River.

I left Deale today and broke past the jetty at 1:30pm. The thought was for me to run north, get back in my slip around 3pm and clean the boat before Jim Catterton details it this weekend

I slipped under the bay bridge and saw the fleet off LP. What the heck, lets check it out Most boats were chumming/chunking, but I thought I might sneak in a few jigging drifts before heading to the slip.
Fish showed on the meter, some in nice patches for jigging. I tried a couple of different color BKD's, but only pulled a few "short" (under 20) fish for my efforts.

The fish were suspended. I was drifting in 27-30 ft and the fish held at 15-20. Perfect for a few umbrella's to be trolled
I was alone, so three umbrellas were deployed with 6 inch tsunami shads on jig heads.
I picked up one fish, then another, then another. Not bad catching them one at a time. A few minutes later, all three rods go down with fish from 21-27 inches. Always get the most bent rod first !!! Released all three back for another day. The deck was a mess; fish poop and slime everywhere. Now I really had to clean the boat
Put all the rods away and ran to my home slip (Bodkin Creek). As I cleaned the deck, I was greeted by my friends at Shipley's Anchorage. Lucky Jay has really continued making improvements with new pilings for nearly every slip as well as new pier.

It's good to be able to get to the boat in 20 minutes as apposed to the 50 minutes to Deale. For those who fish with me, I said "hey Jake" to my uncle as I rounded day marker #5. It's good to be home
