The Magothy is still frozen pretty good too.

This pic is from One of Cape St Claire's piers just at the mouth of Deep Creek on the Magothy....maybe a mile or less to the bay.

The other pic is at Sandy Point on Feb 27.

Flew back from Indy today and was surprised how much ice there WASN'T on the Bay. Don't get me wrong, there is still enough out there to keep Marty grounded for a few more days but much more open water than Friday when I left.
A couple more days like today and we should see a lot more open water. I will check again tomorrow on my way to Louisville.

So what is the over under on when the rivers are clear of ice and the ice flows are gone from the bay? Drove over the naval academy bridge today and the Severn looked sort of clear but the bay was white with bergs.

There is still a good thick ice cover in on the creek behind my house. I don't think I will be able to leave by water for a couple of weeks.

I am likely slipping my boat for the trophy season since I may take off a week to fish. When I stopped by the marina to check it out, it was iced in as well. It is just up the South River from you and behind the Yellowfin restaurant

LOTS of "icebergs" floating above and below the Bay bridge today at mid-morning. Need some wind and tide to push that crap outta here! Hopefully this week's "hot spell" will do the trick.

I drove across the Potomac on the 14th street bridge yesterday. Looked free of ice but awful high, muddy and full of debris.
