Mike,
Not a lot to brag about. I went out Tuesday below Breezy and had two "hits". One was taking drag, the other popped a board line but didn't come tight
Wed. reports were much better from the charter fleet. A slug of fish must have moved into the area. Instead of reports of one or two fish being caught, reports of 5 fish catches were reported by several boats.
This meant we had to go today (low winds). We jumped on Bruces new judge and headed south.
Our first strike was a board rod that was bent over hard. Unfortunately, she balled the rubber shad over the hook and got away.
The second fish was a nice 42 inch striper that went in the box.
We had another fish boated, but it was only 28 inches. The next fish was a short also at 32
Our number 5 strike came off a board line and began spinning. As we brought her closer to the boat, she appeared to be a short as well. She spun off, and headed for less troubling waters
5 bites was well worth going out for today. Only one fish to show for our troubles, but with the stock on the downturn, one fish was all we needed for meat
Looks like I will be off the water until next week with winds and rain predicted.
I know some other Judge guys that also showed success this week. They are there, just not in the numbers we used to see
