Default Sunday and Monday

Sunday- tried to get the skunk off a buddies brand new boat. Ran 13 rods in same spot I caught them Friday afternoon. 1 damn knockdown from 6:45-11:00. Very frustrating! Really wanted to catch at least A fish for his wife.

Today- tried further south and did well. Were hitting both green and white. Caught 8 but only kept 2. Had a few knockdowns, broke the line and lost my lucky lure. Traffic was light, weather was nice, fish were cooperating, what a great day. Best of all the VHF was very quiet, how nice!!

Tried a little deeper water today. Stayed in 40-50' above the bridge. Ran lines shorter then normal- one side 40' and other 60'. Most fish were off boards but did get 2 off boat roads and my lucky lure was on a boat rod umbrella. (Guess it caught too many and wore the line out. ) It was a BIG fish by the drag it was pulling! Had a great time today but wish a few of those fish would have chosen to get caught yesterday instead (still by me of course ). Oh well, he just has to put the time in.
Thursday and Friday will probably be my next trips out. I have a special guest- Marty "the 5th" tuition making a guest appearance onboard the Justified on Friday. Fish be afraid, be very afraid!!

Found out the hard way today that Mike's is closed on Mondays. poor planning on my behalf. Thank God Margaret put the chicken salad in our boat fridge yesterday when we got back in, I could have faded away to nothing this morning.

Fridge
You're lucky you catch any fish at all on that boat. It has a confused personality if it's hot on Friday, does the air conditioner get clicked on

Not to rub salt in your wound - I learned hard way as well.

It pays to retie / replace leaders often.

I cut back the knot after 3-4 regular fish and after ones over 40 or that went crazy.

Only takes 10 seconds - cheap insurance against losing a favorite lure.

Wow, I guess it makes sense though. Of course the lures that don't catch that often are safe, it's the productive ones that get lost.
