If you don't have spreader bars, run them as a single lure off small umbrellas or as a tandem off large umbrellas. You might also want to take off the 6 inch storm shad teasers and replace them with twistertails or eel tails as teasers. I have been running 3 spreader bars with 20 ounces out 5 or 6 bars out of a 9 rod spread.

I haven't fished the upper bay in quite a while, but if the fish are feeding on mayworms, get your lures close to the bottom.

You might even try bottom bouncing one of John's lures off a threeway swivel with 28 ounces of weight.
