I was looking at that type but was concerned about the strength. You have them through bolted right, not just screws into the fiberglass?

Maybe they are stronger then they look.

Oh, awesome fish!!!!!!!

I have fished a number of times with Mark. I had the same concern about those rod holders he has along his stern. But I have seen plenty of large fish hooked up on rods that sit in those holders. At this point, I see them as being just as sturdy as any of his other rod holders. I won't comment on his T-Top rod holders as I want to be invited back. Hopefully Mark can comment on the specifics...Don

Regarding the 2 rod holders in question. Yes they are thru bolted. I was also concerned about their stability, but I am going on 6 years without any issues. The rods sit almost horizontal when in place in the holders so the holders do not have anywhere near the stress that a rocket launcher or a gunnel holder has when a fish hits. I originally installed the holders for rods while chumming. Trolling with them was an afterthought. If I was re-installing holders with trolling in mind, even though I have not had a problem, I would do it differently. BTW.........I hope you haven't jinxed me

Dritchitt.........I can't help it that you are 9 foot tall Us short guys have no problem at all. Just remember to keep your helmet handy when onboard.......................Mark

The only time Mark got doinked by them rocket launchers was when he found that Snake you put in his boat.
