Its been TOO long since I've fished with Shawn, and when my good friend Ronnie Schaefer asked to arrange a trip with him, Jay, myself and Shawn, Shawn, as normal, obliged.
The 60 mile trip to the bridge for me, was skeptical at best. The skies opened up as I approached the bridge. Radar on my phone assured me the storm was staying west of the Bay. Sure enough, the Eastern side was dry as a bone. Thats just amazing to me. Anyway, met up at the ramp, and headed out to a few of Shawns fishing holes.
Managed fish from the get go. Nothing spectacular, but some pullaged. Ronnie managed a impressive 11" white perch on the jig. Keeping an eye on the skies, we meddled around E Bay, with only one other boat in sight. The sky was a beautiful sight with clouds and lightening.
As dusk neared, the skies became a little too ominous, so we headed in.
Ronnie and Jay are metal guys, Shawn and I stuck to rubber. 10" BKDs were a little to aggressive, so 7" BA's were the ticket.
So if the world does end this weekend, my last trip was pleasurable.
