Default MD DNR Service Center in Annapolis

I had to to re-up the registration on my boat in order to keep my cushy $100 per year slip in our community's marina (even though I likely won't have the boat on the water again this year.)

So I stopped in to the DNR Service Center in Annapolis. Walked in at 8:42am and was back in my truck before the clock struck 8:44am.

If only all of the state's various branches of government could take my money that quickly.

Oh wait.....nevermind.

I'll change that from "quickly" to "efficiently."

Seriously though, it was nice to be able to handle such a mundane task so quickly and effortlessly. I have NEVER had a long wait or bad encounter since they moved over to West St.

Hey, i am on the wait list for one of those cushy slips!! use it or lose it buddy

I agree. The only thing that stinks is you have to pay in cash. i had to run to the bank down the street after my initial visit.

I just have a "mud slip" for now, but even at the lowest of tides I have about 18 inches of water under mine. We don't require use of the mud slips to keep them. The bigger slips however, can only sit vacant for a very short time.

The trick is to get a mud slip and then put your name on the "wait to move" list. That list goes faster. It took me 6 years to get my current slip.

I *think* the sign at DNR said they accept cash, checks and money orders.

Yup - all three:

By the way Greg, you're number 64 on the list. When I was in the "60's" it took about a year longer to get my slip.

I pay with a check every other year. Having to pay in cash does stink, so this doesn't.

Regardless of payment method, it will soon SUCK even more to pay for boat registrations.
