Possible solutions include halting development near the river and increasing efforts to grow oysters and mussels. Volunteers also plan to grow floating grasses along docks and shorelines. These plants are intended to suck nutrients from the water.

Well no Effing **** Sherlock. But please, oh please tell me why the county and state just allowed a new development of well over 100 new homes at the headwaters of Deep Creek, which is a decent size tributary of the Magothy close to the bay?

I have to get a permit and supply a buffer management plan to cut down a dying tree within 1000' of the water.

But 1,000 new people living on the water's edge won't have an impact I guess.....
