I saw some pockets of fish, they just weren't interested
The theory I'm going with is that with the poop plants overflowing, they try to keep their mouths shut for 48 hrs after a heavy rainfall

If you catch one with a clothes pin on his nose you'll know for sure.
I won't be out until next Friday.
Had to get up and golf this morning, wedding tonight, hangover Saturday morning and golfing again Sunday . It's tough but someone has to do it.

Sounds like you are "prepping" for retirement
Taking the wife out early tomorrow to catch some spot. I may use them in the evening (after a nap)

Hi Guys.....Been real busy fishing and havn't had much computer time lately. We have been catching QUALITY fish just south of 86 (gum thickets) everyday for 3 weeks!! ie, yesterday 8/14, dropped anchor at 7:45am, pulled anchor at 8:20am.7 of us landed 19 rock and 12 blues. Released the overs and kept our limit of 14. It's been so fast and furious we try to stop at the limit but having 4 or 5 fish on at the same time is the norm so hence the "overs"!! The NRP has been very active there lately boarding and checking both recs and comms. You have to be mindful of the count so you don't mistakenly keep over the limit.
The blues are a pain (unless you like em) and we have found a heavy sinker, depending on conditions, to get the spot down to the bottom is the ticket for the Rock. Our other secret is we have been on the small spot for several weeks.....it makes ALL the difference in the world!! I'm not saying exactly where but Marty, you know!
We'll be at it again tomorrow hope to see you out there.

Charlie, I was out with Capt John for a fun trip on Tuesday (the day we had all the rain ). It is wide open down your way for sure.
I saw breaking fish and birds working over them, that's a sight we don't see too often north of the bridge.
We have had some steady action north of the bridge and it's not far from my slip. I wish the cost of running down your way was less, I would be making the trip more often
Stay on the fish, best to Willy.

Marty...I've seen John out there a few times and spoke to him on the phone. I know how he likes to troll but I guess the livelining bite was too much to pass up! There seems to be birds and breakers everywhere but invariably it turn out to be blues and dinks.
"Bad water" moved in yesterday and the spot on the bottom didn't survive long! The lack of O2 killed them faster than the blues! The rock were VERY scarce but the blues seemed to be everywhere!! We managed to scratch a 14 rock limit but had 44 blues in the box!!!! All this took until 2:30pm !? I guess we have been spoiled. Some of the faster boats went all the way down to Stone Rock and reported the same lack of Rockfish! Hope it clears up soon!

You didn't expect us to keep all the poop plant effluent up our way, did you
If your waters are now dirty, ours should be clean

FWIW: Went diving Saturday afternoon about 5:30 pm to retrieve friend's hung up anchor at Podickery Point.
Current was just starting outgoing - water was not bad. It was normal hazy green to about 15 feet down - then it got darker , again normal conditions.
Once on bottom at 25 feet - same as always , black as night.
